Eastern Europe Space Center is planned to be created in Mukachevo, Zakarpattia region, Ukraine in order to provide space technology services to the administrations and communities of the western regions of Ukraine (Lviv, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi), as well as the border regions of the European Union countries: Poland, Slovakia and Romania within the framework of space activities in the areas of Security, Earth Remote Sensing, Satellite Navigation, Space Situational Awareness, (SSA), Space Weather, Geophysical Monitoring, etc. According to the assessment of the NSFCTC specialists, the space technologies are currently not being used actively enough for the development of the western regions of Ukraine, as well as the border regions of Eastern Europe. The use of services that have been developed at the NSFCTC on the basis of space technologies will contribute to the economic development, increase of security and safety and environmental protection in the above-mentioned regions of Ukraine and European countries. Creation of the Eastern Europe Space Center will ensure the concentration of material and technical means, as well as expertise provided by the highly qualified NSFCTC personnel in a single high-tech complex of buildings and facilities. This will significantly increase the efficiency of the management, scientific, technical and educational activities of the European and Ukrainian entities.
